Support
Bottletale for iPhone and Android. Updated 16 September 2026.
Write to hello@bottletale.app and a person answers, usually within one working day (Dubai time). Include your phone model and what you were doing when something went wrong; never send a password or a sign-in code.
Getting started
- Age. Bottletale is for people of legal drinking age. Confirm your age once on the first screen; nothing else about you is asked.
- No account needed. You can scan, search and listen as a guest. Sign in only when you want to save a bottle to your Wine Cabinet or be told when a story is ready.
- Signing in. Choose Apple, Google, or an email code. With email, we send a six-digit code to your address; enter it in the app. Codes expire after a few minutes, so ask for a new one if it was slow to arrive.
Scanning a label
- Point the camera at the front label, fill the frame, and hold still for a moment.
- If the label is not found, the bottle is not in our cellar yet. Use "Search by name", or tap "Notify me" and we will tell you when its story is recorded. Listener requests decide what we record next.
- The photo is used only to read the label and is not kept. See the Privacy Policy.
Listening
- Stories keep playing with the screen locked and from the lock-screen controls. If audio stops when you lock the phone, check that Low Power Mode or a battery saver is not restricting background audio for Bottletale.
- Playback speed, chapters and a 15-second skip are in the full player.
- Your place in every story is remembered; sign in to carry it across devices.
Notifications
We send one message per requested wine, when its story is live. Turn notifications on or off in Profile, or in your phone's settings for Bottletale.
Your account and data
- Language. English or Russian, in Profile.
- Delete your account. Profile → Delete account. Your Cabinet, ratings and listening history are removed; requests and scan text are anonymised. You can also email us and we will do it within 30 days.
- Your data. What we keep and for how long is in the Privacy Policy; the rules of use are in the Terms of Use.
Something else
A wrong fact in a story, a wine you would like recorded, a bug: all of it goes to hello@bottletale.app. Bottletale does not sell alcohol and has no purchases inside the app.
